As a leader in the critical mineral space, Lithium Americas and our President & CEO, Jonathan Evans, were chosen to receive the 2024 Supply Chain Groundbreaker Award during the ZETA Education Fund’s 2024 EV Awards in Washington, DC, in September. Award photos are accessible online.

The Supply Chain Groundbreaker Award is given to individuals who demonstrate a fervent recognition of the importance of critical minerals to the electric vehicle supply chain. The ZETA team was excited to recognize Lithium Americas’ Thacker Pass project as a leader in domestic lithium production, having recently secured the largest ever conditional loan guarantee for a strategic material project from the U.S. Department of Energy.

The ZETA Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of the Zero Emission Transportation Association focused on educating the public on the environmental and social benefits and opportunities associated with broad EV adoption.


Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology held their 17th annual NCET Dragonfly Energy Technology Awards on May 13, 2024 to celebrate northern Nevada individuals and companies who have greatly enhanced the growth and prestige of the technology community. Lithium Americas was presented with the Lithium Loop Award, which is a prestigious recognition dedicated to honoring entities that demonstrate exceptional commitment, innovation, and leadership in advancing Nevada's strategic lithium economy. This award celebrates organizations, projects, or initiatives that play a pivotal role in promoting the development, sustainability, and growth of Nevada's lithium resources and the broader lithium loop economy.

In April 2024, the University of Nevada, Reno Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering recognized Lithium Americas with a Mackay School Corporate Appreciation Award at their annual banquet. The John W. Mackay Banquet is a long-standing tradition that serves to celebrate donor generosity, outstanding faculty and student accomplishments.


In December 2023, Lithium Americas was presented with the 2023 Platinum Award for Corporate Excellence by the American Exploration & Mining Association. The award was presented during the AEMA’s 129th Annual Meeting: Mining Meets the Moment, in Sparks, NV.

Tim Crowley, Vice President for Government and External Affairs served as a keynote speaker where he presented, “Thacker Pass: Getting It Done Through Key Partnerships”.

Recognitions


Lithium Americas was recognized as a Business Expansion honoree by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) at their inaugural 2024 Celebration of Business & Industry in Northern Nevada. EDAWN’s mission is to help drive the region’s economic vitality. Along with the recognition, LAC received Certificates of Recognition from State of Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, State of Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony, Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei, and Nevada Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. In June 2024, Jonathan Evans, President & CEO of Lithium Americas Corp. was shortlisted for the 2024 Fastmarkets Voltas CEO of the Year award. The award is presented to an outstanding individual who has set themselves apart in the world of EV, EV/ESS Battery, and Battery Raw Materials and was announced at the 16th annual Fastmarkets Lithium Supply and Battery Raw Materials Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, the home state of Thacker Pass.




In 2024, Lithium Americas was nominated for an IR Magazine Best IR During a Corporate Transaction Award for the General Motors transaction. This nomination was alongside esteemed company, including Aecon Group, Enbridge, Gibson Energy, TransAlta Corporation and Intact Financial Corporation. It’s a significant honor to be among the best of the best, and an endorsement for LAC to have been nominated.




On May 9, 2024, the Wall Street Journal published their CEO Council Roll Call, identifying a network of Chief Executive Officers who are instrumental in driving the future of business. In it, Lithium Americas’ Director, President and CEO, Jonathan Evans, was recognized as one of the world’s most influential CEOs.
