Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024 is Small Business
Saturday – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. Small
Business Saturday has become an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season. The day infuses money
back into our local economies, promotes vibrant and diverse communities, and celebrates the important role of small
businesses in the national economy.
-
The Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca is a great venue for businesses to host meetings and events.
-
The Sawtooth Station in Orovada is a favorite lunch stop for LAC and Thacker Pass employees.
-
L: The LAC team enjoys having lunch meetings at Chihuahua’s in Winnemucca. R: Maria Anderson, LAC Community Relations Director, and many LAC staff enjoy their regular visits to Brew 95 in Winnemucca.

Please join Lithium Americas and organizations across the country in supporting your local small businesses this
Small Business Saturday, into the holiday season and beyond. When you support a local business, you’re also supporting
your neighborhood, town or city by way of paying sales tax. Sales tax revenue supports public schools, parks, roads
and sidewalks, and funds public service workers, such as firefighters.
Lithium Americas is committed to engaging with and working closely with our local communities to sustainably drive
economic growth. Lithium Americas is grateful for all the businesses we work closely with in Humboldt County, northern
Nevada as we develop Thacker Pass.
We have established relationships with various property owners as we expand in both Winnemucca and around Humboldt
County, including:
- For the Winnemucca Office, we are leasing from Javier Rivera.
- For the housing, we are sub-leasing rooms for lodging from Midas House, and have purchased land from Schommer
Properties, LLC for the Workforce Hub in Winnemucca.
- For the Transload Terminal in Winnemucca, we leased land near the airport from the City of Winnemucca and
purchased land for ingress and egress from Stitzer Properties.
- To help support Thacker Pass, we have purchased a ranch in Orovada and a ranch located near Thacker Pass.
Lithium Americas also has a number of signed agreements in place to receive on-going services from local businesses,
including:
- Allied Universal Security
- Best Western Plus Gold Country Inn
- Big G Construction
- Brew 95
- Desert Disposal
- Empire CAT
- Gamma Electric
- Hunewell Construction
- Les Schwab
- Norco Industrial
- PDQ Auto Center
- Rango Broadband
- Ruby Mountain Natural Spring Water

We look forward to continuing to build on relationships we’ve established in Winnemucca and the surrounding
communities, as well as forming new relationships as we advance towards production at Thacker Pass. Since 2019, we
have conducted business with many, including:
